Blood tests can be added where clinically useful, or booked separately if you already know which test or profile you need.

The Initial Health Consultation / 10-Point Health Snapshot is £45, carried out at our Bristol clinic by a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience.
What the £45 assessment includes
The appointment includes a relevant clinical history covering:
- Past medical history
- Current medication
- Family history
- Social history
- Current symptoms and health concerns
This is followed by the 10-Point Health Snapshot:
Urinalysis / urine dip

Preventative healthcare is a little like servicing a car: you do not always wait for a warning light before checking what is happening. Establishing a baseline, identifying risks early, making appropriate changes and then monitoring whether those changes are working can give you a more proactive approach to your health.
Comprehensive blood profiles, clear prices
For people who want broader laboratory testing, Mango Medical also offers comprehensive Well Man and Well Woman blood profiles. These are separate from the £45 health assessment and can be booked where appropriate.

Individual tests such as cholesterol, HbA1c, thyroid function, vitamin D, iron studies and others can also be added where clinically appropriate or booked separately. Each is priced separately on the Price List, so you always know the total before you book.
What happens if we identify a risk
If the assessment or any blood testing identifies something that needs attention, Mango Medical can explain what it means and agree the appropriate next step. Depending on the finding, this might include lifestyle and risk-reduction advice, repeat monitoring, treatment or prescribing within our clinical scope, further investigations or referral to a GP or specialist where appropriate.
Monitoring your progress
A health check can also provide a useful baseline. If cholesterol, HbA1c, blood pressure, weight or another marker is raised, Mango Medical can agree appropriate goals and repeat relevant measurements or blood tests after lifestyle, weight or treatment changes. For some markers, review at around three months may be useful, although the timing is always tailored to the individual.
For people who prefer ongoing preventative monitoring rather than isolated appointments, structured health-monitoring plans are also available.

Mango Medical can assess many non-urgent health concerns, but a routine health check should not delay appropriate urgent or emergency care. Symptoms suggesting a medical emergency require the appropriate NHS urgent-care or 999 pathway.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a GP referral for a health check?
No. You can book directly. If the assessment identifies something requiring monitoring, treatment, further investigation or referral, Mango Medical can manage this where clinically appropriate or advise when your GP, NHS service or another specialist is the better next step.
What happens if something abnormal is found?
Your clinician will explain what the finding means and what the appropriate next step is. This may include lifestyle advice, repeat testing, monitoring, treatment within Mango Medical’s clinical scope or onward referral where needed. You will not simply be given an abnormal result without a plan.
Can I book individual blood tests?
Yes. Individual tests such as cholesterol, HbA1c, thyroid function, vitamin D, iron studies and others can be added where clinically appropriate or booked separately. Every test is priced on the Price List.
